Wildflower Bouquet

Wildflower bouquets are one of my favorite designs to make. They are always so full of life! The flowers mostly come from my garden for this bouquet so don’t be surprised to find a ladybug or two climbing around in your bouquet. Right now the garden is wild with so many things blooming—- the honey bees are loving it. We have cosmos, perennial sunflowers, annual sunflowers, scabiosa, zinnias, dahlias, marigolds, alliums, grasses, pods, chinese lanterns, black and blue sage, russian sage, lavender verbena, honeysuckle, and so many more. I love all of these it is really hard to pick a favorite. Wildflower style bridal bouquets and crowns have also been very popular this year too. This flowers are mostly delicate and add so much movement to the garden as the wind blows, or the birds jump on them or the hummingbirds collect their nectar. I love to sit and watch all these things happening in my wildflower garden. It makes me so filled with peace and joy knowing I can provide food and a beautiful space for all these magnificent creatures. I also try to always include some kind of seed pod, so the seeds and be planted and grow into beautiful flowers for years to come…marking the occasion they were given for. Sometimes Birthdays, anniversaries, and even sympathy. I feel that each Wildflower Bouquet I create is filled with love and life. I am usually apologizing to the honey bees, dragonflies, hummingbirds, and chickadees, and talking to them when I go out to cut flowers for my bouquets—-not wanting to disturb them. Its my little slice of heaven, and each bouquet I make I hope in turn gives the recipient a little slice of heaven too.
